Talk: The Lion and the Tiger, the story of the British Raj in India

The Hurstpierpoint Historical & Geographical Society will be having their next meeting on Friday 26 May 2017 at 8:00 pm. The speaker Margaret Nicolle, will be speaking about The Lion and the Tiger, the story of the British Raj in India. The Society's Annual General Meeting (7:45 pm) will precede this talk. The meeting will take place at the Guide Hall, Trinity Road Car Park, Hurstpierpoint. Admission is free to members; Non-members are welcome: entrance fee £3; £2 to members of other Historical Societies.


Hurstpierpoint Historical & Geographical Society Summer Outing
9th June 2017


The Hurstpierpoint Historical & Geographical Society will be having their Summer Outing on FRIDAY 9 June 2017. Richard Bryant will be giving a Guided Walk around Historic Lindfield starting at 7:00 pm - the walk will last 2 hours. Cost: £5.00. Please meet at Wilderness Car Park in Lindfield; maximum of 25 walkers is allowed.


Directions: When coming on the Lindfield High Street from Haywards Heath, look for the Bent Arms pub. Turn right immediately after the pub. After about 100 meters, turn left into The Wilderness. Go straight ahead and the car park is at the end on your left. The car parking is free and there should be plenty of spaces. If there are no more spaces, please park on The Wilderness on the left side as you approach the car park.


Parish Councillor Surgery
10th June 2017


There will be a Parish Councillor Surgery on Saturday 10 June 2017 from 10:00 am - 12 noon, in the Conference Room, Village Centre, Trinity Road, Hurstpierpoint. Would you like to have a chat with a Parish Councillor about any issue or idea that you have? The Parish Council will be holding monthly Surgeries in Hurstpierpoint and Sayers Common where 2 Councillors will be available.


All Parish Council and Committee meetings are open to the public and everyone is very welcome to attend. This initiative is being trialed for a year, for those people who might find it easier to chat in this informal manner.


Baby and Child First Aid Course
25th June 2017


Baby and Child First Aid Course on Sunday 25th June 10 am - 12.30 pm at Adastra Hall, Hassocks.


This course is ideal for new parents, great for antenatal and postnatal groups and also good for grandparents. It will give you confidence when dealing with a child in an emergency, and the chance to learn all the basic life saving techniques - something every parent needs to know. Covers what to do in an emergency, unconsciousness, resuscitation, choking, head injuries, bleeding, burns and some accident prevention. £30 per person.
